Football Recap: Santiago Takes a Loss

Santiago was the 43-21 winner over Century when they last played one another back in September of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The match between the Cavaliers and the Centurions didn't end well, with the Cavaliers falling 34-20.

Although Santiago took the loss, they still got scores from MARIO CARBAJAL, BRANDON OROZCO, and MICHAEL HOANG.

Derek Carrillo was his usual excellent self, picking up 114 receiving yards and three scores, while also rushing for 122 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries for Century. With that strong performance, Carrillo is now averaging an impressive 105.2 rushing yards per game. Leonardo Mendoza was another key player, throwing for 141 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Santiago's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Century, they now have a winning record of 2-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santiago will challenge Ocean View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Seahawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Century, they will face off against Costa Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' defense has only allowed 7.2 points per game this season, so the Centurions' offense will have their work cut out for them.
