Softball Game Preview: Rison Wildcats vs. Dumas Bobcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Rison Wildcats face off against Dumas Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Rison after they put the first points on the board two weeks ago, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Hampton by a score of 9-8. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 4-0 in the first period.

Mackenzie King made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Layne Potter, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.

Meanwhile, Dumas was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-0 to Drew Central.

Rison's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4. As for Dumas, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Rison couldn't quite get it done against Dumas in their previous meeting back in April of 2021 as they fell 13-9. Can Rison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
