Softball Recap: Mars Takes a Loss

Mars was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-1 to the Fox Chapel Foxes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Foxes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 on April 11th.

Sophia Soltis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Mars' record is now 3-14. As for Fox Chapel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mars will take on Shaler Area at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fox Chapel, they will head out to challenge Deer Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
