Basketball Recap: Wellington Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Wellington's tournament run continued when they took on Dr. Joaquin Garcia on Monday. The Wellington Wolverines secured a 45-39 W over the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 270th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Dr. Joaquin Garcia lost, don't look at Drovinsky Ulysse. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Ulysse has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Sanchez, who posted six points.
