Softball Recap: Lomira's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lomira came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Cambria-Friesland Hilltoppers. Considering the Lions have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Lomira's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cambria-Friesland, the loss snapped their winning streak at 12 games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lomira will welcome Mayville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 1.6, the Cardinals 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Cambria-Friesland, they will be playing at home against Pardeeville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
