Basketball Game Preview: Dime Box Longhorns vs. North Zulch Bulldogs

Dime Box is 2-7 against North Zulch since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Dime Box Longhorns will head out to face off against the North Zulch Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Dime Box is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Round Top-Carmine on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Dime Box was outmatched by Round Top-Carmine and fell 67-33. The Longhorns were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-12.

Dime Box's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ta'Niyah Auston, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 20 points, and Heather Fritsche, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. That was a full 60.6% of Dime Box's points, marking the 17th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, North Zulch had to suffer through a 59-31 loss at the hands of Round Top-Carmine. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Cubs: they've now lost four in a row.

Dime Box's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for North Zulch, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Dime Box was able to grind out a solid win over North Zulch in their previous meeting back in January, winning 55-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dime Box since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
