Softball Game Preview: Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park Hawks vs. De La Salle Meteors

Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park is 0-4 against De La Salle since May of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Meteors at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six matches.

On Wednesday, Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park beat Blue Island Eisenhower 16-13.

Lizzet Bucio was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Litzie Bucio was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double.

Batavia hit De La Salle with a six-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Meteors lost 9-2 to the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Meteors have suffered since May 29, 2024.

De La Salle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mya Alvarez, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.

De La Salle's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
