Softball Recap: Jasper Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Jasper challenged Evansville Memorial on Monday. The Wildcats fell 5-2 to the Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 8-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Jasper saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Erny, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Jasper has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10-1 record this season. As for Evansville Memorial, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Jasper has already played their next game (against Owensboro Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Evansville Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Heritage Hills on the 20th.
