Soccer Game Preview: La Vernia vs. San Antonio Memorial

The La Vernia Bears will face off against the San Antonio Memorial Minutemen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. La Vernia will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

La Vernia's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Luling as La Vernia made off with a 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won four games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in January, San Antonio Memorial was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. Neither they nor Gonzales could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

La Vernia is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those nine matches. San Antonio Memorial's draw makes their record 8-2-2 this season.
