Softball Recap: Forestview Find Success

It was a proper cat-fight when Forestview challenged North Gaston on Friday. Forestview came out on top against North Gaston by a score of 4-1. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Olivia Hensley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Baker, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Forestview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. North Gaston's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Forestview has already played their next contest, a 16-1 victory against Ashbrook on the 25th. As for North Gaston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 7-0 defeat against Kings Mountain on the 25th.
