Softball Recap: Manor New Tech Drops Season-High Score on LBJ Austin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manor New Tech). They never let the LBJ Austin Jaguars get on the board and left with a 25-0 win on Tuesday. Manor New Tech has beaten LBJ Austin the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest LBJ Austin has come to flipping the script.

Lelani Ceballos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Alexis Martinez-Zambrano was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Isabella Alaniz was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.

Manor New Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The victory got Manor New Tech back to even at 3-3-1.

Coming up, Manor New Tech will head out to take on Northeast Early College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for LBJ Austin, they will be playing at home against Lago Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lago Vista has three straight wins, LBJ Austin has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
