Baseball Game Preview: Kennebunk Rams vs. Gorham Rams

Kennebunk is 0-8 against Gorham since April of 2016 but things could change on Friday. Kennebunk will head out to challenge Gorham at 4:30 p.m. Kennebunk is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Kennebunk was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Westbrook on Thursday. The Rams blew past the Blue Blazes 10-0. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Blue Blazes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Griffin Whitney looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Garrett Taschereau was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Noah Burnham also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Gorham didn't have quite enough to beat Massabesic on Thursday and fell 6-5.

Preston Brown made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cooper Whitehead, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Kennebunk's record now sits at 4-2. As for Gorham, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-2-1.

Kennebunk came up short against Gorham when the teams last played back in May of 2025, falling 5-2. Can Kennebunk avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
