Brazosport Christian had won eight straight games and Malerie Gonzalez did her part to make it nine on Friday. The Brazosport Christian Eagles strolled past the Divine Savior Academy - Sienna Rays with points to spare, taking the game 50-35 thanks in part to Gonzalez, who posted eight points along with nine steals and eight rebounds. Those nine steals gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Charity Catoe, who earned eight points in addition to ten boards and four blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more blocks the last four times she's played.

Brazosport Christian pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.3 points over those games. As for Divine Savior Academy - Sienna, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Brazosport Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Briarwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Brazosport Christian's defense has only allowed 18.8 points per game this season, so Briarwood's offense will have their work cut out for them. Divine Savior Academy - Sienna does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
