Basketball Recap: Gem State Adventist Academy Takes a Loss

Gem State Adventist Academy and North Star squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Gem State Adventist Academy had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 76-33 loss at the hands of the North Star Huskies. The loss continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now lost six in a row.

Gem State Adventist Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakob Evenson, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Grimaldo, who earned 12 points.

It was another big night for Kyle Wheeler, who went 7-for-9 from beyond the arc to rack up 29 points for North Star. What's more, Wheeler also posted a 60% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Everett Metier was another key player, putting up four points.

Gem State Adventist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for North Star, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Gem State Adventist Academy nor North Star have any future games scheduled.
