Baseball Recap: Aurora Central Takes a Loss

Aurora Central couldn't beat Arvada on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Trojans fell 13-10 to the Bulldogs. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 9-3 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Toby Sanchez was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Aurora Central is 4-1 when Sanchez posts two or more runs, but 3-11 otherwise. Anderson Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Aurora Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Arvada, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.

As of now, neither Aurora Central nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
