Volleyball Recap: Basis Independent Silicon Valley's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After a string of ten wins, Basis Independent Silicon Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against the University Prep Academy Golden Eagles, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bobcats have suffered since March 12th.

Basis Independent Silicon Valley was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.

University Prep Academy was led to victory by Brandon Nguyen and Taran Kollu. Nguyen had 25 digs and two aces, while Kollu had six digs and one block. What's more, Nguyen posted two assists, the most he's had since back in March.

Basis Independent Silicon Valley's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 10-4. As for University Prep Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
