Basketball Recap: CIA-Bella Vista Falls Short Against Ranked Layton Christian Academy

CIA-Bella Vista is ranked highly in their home state and on Sunday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Layton Christian Academy. The CIA-Bella Vista Bears took a 64-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Layton Christian Academy Eagles.

Layton Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Tyrin Jones went 9-for-14 en route to 23 points and Albert Ntungicimpaye went 6-for-8 to rack up 15 points and four steals. Omar Mowafak was another key player, going 5-for-11 on his way to 13 points.

CIA-Bella Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Layton Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, CIA-Bella Vista and Layton Christian Academy will both be playing Wasatch Academy the next time they take the court. CIA-Bella Vista will head out to face Wasatch Academy on Friday, while Layton Christian Academy will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 25th.
