Baseball Recap: West Columbus Comes Up Short

West Columbus had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 7-13 to make it six. They lost 12-1 to the Hobbton Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent loss being a 9-1 defeat on April 7th.

As for Hobbton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Hobbton's part, Nathan Neal spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. Neal has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Thomas Tart was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kasey Lee, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
