Football Recap: Hillcrest Trojans vs. Arlington Lions
Hillcrest entered their tilt with Arlington on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over the Arlington Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.
A big part of Hillcrest's win came down to the chemistry between Matthew Ramos and his top target Julian Sandoval. Ramos threw for 283 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes while Sandoval picked up 185 receiving yards and three touchdowns. With that strong performance, Sandoval is now averaging an impressive 112 receiving yards per game. Louie Fajardo helped Ramos out on the ground, picking up 39 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 62 yards.

Arlington's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Gonzalez, who threw for 189 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 48 yards. Lincoln Liggins did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 116 receiving yards.
Hillcrest's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Arlington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
