Football Recap: Mapletown Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mapletown extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were dealt a 40-0 defeat at the hands of the West Greene Pioneers. The match marked the first time this year in which the Maples were not able to get on the board.

West Greene's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

West Greene found their leader in freshman Joel Rizor, who rushed for 178 yards and four scores on only 11 carries, and also threw for 83 yards and one TD on only six passes. Those 178 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Rizor. A healthy portion of Rizor's aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Matthew Wassil, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
