Softball Recap: Northwestern Trojans vs. Rock Hill Bearcats
Northwestern had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-13 to make it ten. They fell just short of the Rock Hill Bearcats by a score of 4-3. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bearcats earlier this season, when they won 11-5.
Northwestern saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Rock Hill, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since February 20, 2024.
On Rock Hill's side, Karamia Cunningham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.
