Football Recap: The Pinnacle Piles Up the Points Against Middle Park + How To Watch

The Pinnacle hadn't done well against Middle Park recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Timberwolves breezed past the Panthers to the tune of 40-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Timberwolves just coasted through the last quarter.

The Pinnacle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Yadhir Perez out in front who rushed for 82 yards and three scores. Those 82 rushing yards gave Perez a new career-high. Aj Duran was another key rusher, rushing for 90 yards on only eight carries.

The Pinnacle's run defense was locked in: Middle Park could only muster 0.8 yards per carry. While three picked up at least eight total tackles, Omar Terrones-Jara stood above the rest. He picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (5.0 for loss). The Pinnacle didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 13.1.

The Pinnacle didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Santino Izarraras, Isreal Cabrera, and Ezequiel Ibarra picked up one apiece. Ibarra also set a new season-high mark in defended passes with five. The Pinnacle got some further help from Terrones-Jara: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (5.0 for loss).

The win was the third in a row for The Pinnacle, bringing their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.7 points over those games. As for Middle Park, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, The Pinnacle will face off against Prospect Ridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Middle Park, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Non Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on the 29th.
