Basketball Game Preview: Marion County Mustangs vs. Brashear Tigers

Marion County and Brashear are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Marion County Mustangs will host the Brashear Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marion County is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Marion County was able to grind out a solid victory over Atlanta, taking the game 50-42. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Hornets are ranked 444th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Brashear's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a blow against Green City, falling 62-29. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Tigers struggled afterwards.

Brashear now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Marion County, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Marion County came out on top in a nail-biter against Brashear when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 38-36. Does Marion County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brashear turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
