Soccer Game Preview: Rich Township vs. Wilmington

The Rich Township Raptors will take on the Wilmington Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Rich Township's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Rich Township fell victim to Kankakee and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Kays, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Rich Township can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 424th, while Kankakee are ranked 196th).

Meanwhile, while the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was Peotone who was credited with the victory on Thursday. The Blue Devils got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Wilmington's two. Wilmington have struggled against Peotone recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Rich Township's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Wilmington, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
