It was a good run, but Emery unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Contra Costa Christian Cougars. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in November of 2022.

It was another big night for Carson Faber, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds for Contra Costa Christian. Faber's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Gerrit Johnston was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 17 boards.

Emery's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Contra Costa Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
