Baseball Recap: Lynden Takes a Loss

Lynden extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-8 in the process. They fell 4-0 to the Burlington-Edison Tigers. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Burlington-Edison, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Burlington-Edison's part, not much got past Ryder Aldridge, who gave up just four hits to keep Lynden off the board. Aldridge has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jakson Granger was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lynden will square off against Sehome at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mariners' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Burlington-Edison, they will challenge Lynden Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
