Recap: Ballou Knights vs. Coolidge Colts
On Monday, the Ballou Knights faced the Coolidge Colts in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ballou took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coolidge. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samaud Benton-McDonald, who scored 26 points. Josiah GoMillion was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Ballou's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Coolidge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Ballou will head out on the road to square off against DC International at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ballou is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season. As for Coolidge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against School Without Walls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coolidge is coming into the match with four straight wins at home, so School Without Walls is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
