Soccer Game Preview: Monett vs. Logan-Rogersville

Monett hasn't had much luck against Logan-Rogersville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cubs are taking a road trip to take on the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Monett will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Aurora on Thursday. The Cubs blew past the Houn Dawgs 4-1.

Meanwhile, Logan-Rogersville had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Bluejays a 5-0 shutout. Logan-Rogersville's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six games.

Logan-Rogersville pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Monett, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12.

Monett might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Logan-Rogersville in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Cubs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
