It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Destrehan had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Thibodaux Tigers by a score of 11-3. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Tigers are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Destrehan has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-19 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points over those games. Thibodaux is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-19.
