Baseball Game Preview: St. John Bosco Braves vs. Los Osos Grizzlies

The St. John Bosco Braves will take on the Los Osos Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games St. John Bosco has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

St. John Bosco's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Norco 2-0.

Jack Champlin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched.

At the plate, St. John Bosco's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was James Clark, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Clark also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Jhett Ohira was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Los Osos entered their tilt with Arlington on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 9-0 victory.

Aedan Holloway looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Justin Yeutter was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Los Osos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Los Osos pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing ten hits in those games compared to only 4.67 in the others. As for St. John Bosco, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
