Softball Recap: Lecanto Panthers vs. River Ridge Royal Knights

Lecanto had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let the River Ridge Royal Knights get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Wednesday. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Royal Knights, too.

Not much got past Abigail Males, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep River Ridge off the board. Males has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lecanto saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Coimbre, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Kierstyn Swayze also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
