Basketball Recap: Foxcroft Comes Up Short

Foxcroft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Wakefield School Fighting Owls 49-19. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Foxcroft of the 24-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Wakefield School got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Meira Barnaby out in front who posted 16 points and seven steals. The contest was Barnaby's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leilani Greene, who had 11 points and eight steals.

Foxcroft's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Wakefield School, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Tandem Friends the next time they take the court. Wakefield School will host Tandem Friends at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while Foxcroft will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
