Basketball Recap: Virginia Episcopal School Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kaloyan Kolev and Marquez Barrera

Virginia Episcopal School played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks, falling 79-54. That's two games in a row now that the Bishops have lost by exactly 25 points.

Despite the defeat, Virginia Episcopal School had strong showings from Marquez Barrera, who went 5 for 11 en route to 16 points, and Kaloyan Kolev, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

It was another big night for Ryan Crotty, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 17 points for Miller School of Albemarle. Crotty's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Crissman, who went 5 for 10 en route to 17 points.

Virginia Episcopal School has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Miller School of Albemarle, they pushed their record up to 7-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Virginia Episcopal School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-52 loss against Hargrave Military Academy on the 17th. As for Miller School of Albemarle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-39 win against New Covenant on the 17th.
