Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Perry Hall). They never let Western get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Gators sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Savannah Carl made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Madison Carl was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julia Potts, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Perry Hall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .645. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Perry Hall's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Western, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
