Baseball Recap: Dysart Has No Trouble Against Coronado

Dysart never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Coronado Dons. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Eduardo Carranza made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Dysart is undefeated when Carranza posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jamarian Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Dysart: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Olivas, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Dysart and bumps their season record up to 7-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Coronado, their loss was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Dysart will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
