Baseball Recap: Buckeye Valley Takes a Loss

Buckeye Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Watterson Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 back in April.

Buckeye Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Bishop Watterson, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4.

Looking ahead, Buckeye Valley will take on Lakewood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Barons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Bishop Watterson has already played their next match (against Big Walnut), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
