Recap: American Fork Cavemen vs. Corner Canyon Chargers
The American Fork Cavemen and the Corner Canyon Chargers (ranked 85 and 30 in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile matchup. American Fork skirted past Corner Canyon 67-65. The win was all the more spectacular given American Fork's disadvantage in MaxPreps' national basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Corner Canyon is ranked 30th).
Despite the loss, Corner Canyon still got an impressive performance from Isaac Neibaur, who scored 17 points along with 4 steals. Derelle Desire was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for American Fork and bumps their season record up to 2-2. As for Corner Canyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
American Fork will face off against Arbor View at 10:40 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Arbor View's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Corner Canyon, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lehi at 2:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
