Preview: Highland Park Hornets vs. West Texas Comanches
The Highland Park Hornets will be playing at home against the West Texas Comanches at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland Park has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 273 points over their last six contests.
Highland Park pushed their score all the way to 32 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 72-32 loss at the hands of Panhandle. While losing is never fun, Highland Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 854th, while Panhandle is ranked 296th).
Despite their defeat, Highland Park saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Benjamin Ho, who picked up 163 receiving yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Ho was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 66 yards. Brady Thomspon was another key contributor, throwing for 278 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, West Texas blew past Sanford-Fritch, posting a 40-7 win at home.
West Texas' win bumped their season record to 3-3 while Highland Park's defeat dropped theirs to 4-2.
Highland Park strolled past West Texas in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 31-16. Does Highland Park have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Texas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
