Basketball Recap: Sully Buttes Takes a Loss

Sully Buttes lost against Winner back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Sully Buttes Chargers lost to the Winner Warriors on the road by a 68-51 margin.

Winner found their leader in sophomore Carter Craven, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 21 rebounds. The game was Craven's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Shawn Hammerbeck, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds.

Sully Buttes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Winner, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sully Buttes will venture away from home to take on Wolsey-Wessington at 4:45 p.m. on December 28th. As for Winner, they will head out on the road to challenge Dakota Valley at 3:30 p.m. on December 30th.
