Football Recap: North Brunswick Scorpions vs. Laney Buccaneers        
        
		
             North Brunswick lost against Laney back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. The North Brunswick Scorpions fell just short of the Laney Buccaneers by a score of  34-31.
 Despite the loss, North Brunswick still got an impressive performance from   Jonah Campbell, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 169 yards and a touchdown on only 14 passes. A healthy portion of  Campbell's aerial production (92 yards to be exact)  went to  Chris Webb.
 Even though they lost, North Brunswick was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 252  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 225  rushing yards in three consecutive  matches.
 North Brunswick didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Kylel Hansley and  Ty Whiters.
  Joquin Dingle was nothing short of spectacular for Laney: he rushed for 252 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Dingle was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards.
 North Brunswick has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record  this season. As for Laney, their victory  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 5-4.
 North Brunswick will head out to  take on Ashley  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Ashley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 31.8  points per game  this season. As for Laney, they will be playing at home against Topsail  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Laney will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak  dating back to last season alive.
