Basketball Recap: Tesoro's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Tesoro lost against San Clemente back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tesoro Titans received a blow as they fell 62-43 to the San Clemente Tritons. The Titans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

San Clemente was led to victory by Christian Fernandez and Chase Tolliver. Fernandez went 10 of 18 on his way to 22 points and six assists, while Tolliver dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Fernandez's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Hansen, who posted six points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

Tesoro's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for San Clemente, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Tesoro and San Clemente should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Tesoro (ranked 125th) will meet Trabuco Hills (ranked 364th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, San Clemente (ranked 65th) will meet Dana Hills (ranked 766th) at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th.
