Softball Recap: Osawatomie's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Osawatomie made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Anderson County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Gracie Fanning made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Fanning was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Mackenna Minden was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. Lexie Palmer was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Osawatomie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Osawatomie's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Anderson County, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Osawatomie beat the Bulldogs by a score of 8-5 later that day.
