Softball Game Preview: Lakeland Christian Vikings vs. Plant City Raiders

The Lakeland Christian Vikings will take on the Plant City Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Lakeland Christian came up short against Mulberry and fell 8-4. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly four runs.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Plant City made sure to put some runs up on the board against Riverview on Monday. The Raiders walked away with a 14-9 win over the Sharks.

Kyleigh Gibbs looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Plant City got a massive performance out of Katelyn Jordan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, Jordan posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh Meiers, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Lakeland Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Plant City, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
