Soccer Game Preview: Kiona-Benton vs. Connell

Kiona-Benton hasn't had much luck against Connell recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m.

Kiona-Benton is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Cashmere, falling 4-0. That's two games in a row now that Kiona-Benton have lost by exactly four goals.

Meanwhile, Connell had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cougars a 26-0 shutout. The contest marked Connell's most dominant win of the season.

Connell's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 47 goals over those six games. As for Kiona-Benton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Kiona-Benton might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Connell in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
