Basketball Recap: Trayiona Maxfield Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bethune-Bowman

Scott's Branch was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Bethune-Bowman on Tuesday. The Scott's Branch Eagles put the hurt on the Bethune-Bowman Mohawks with a sharp 49-28 win. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Mohawks back in January, they had to take a 41-40 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Scott's Branch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trayiona Maxfield, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 14 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamaria Lowery, who posted six points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Scott's Branch now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Bethune-Bowman, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scott's Branch has already played their next game (against Cross), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bethune-Bowman will be playing in front of their home fans against St. John's at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John's will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Bethune-Bowman surely won't give up without a fight.
