Soccer Game Preview: Northeast vs. Abraham Lincoln

The Northeast Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Abraham Lincoln took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Northeast, who comes in off a win.

Northeast had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the six-goal drubbing they dealt John Bartram on Monday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 7-1 victory. Given Northeast's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while John Bartram are ranked 292nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Abraham Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central. That's two games in a row now that Abraham Lincoln have lost by exactly two goals.

Abraham Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Northeast, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Northeast beat Abraham Lincoln by a goal in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 1-0. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Railsplitters have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
