Football Recap: Sonora Does not Make It Easy on Eldorado's Passing Game

Sonora gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 26-14 victory over the Eldorado Eagles. The win almost wasn't to be: the Broncos were down 14-0 in the second quarter.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Sonora's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Despite the loss, Eldorado still got an impressive performance from Jayden Wilkes, who rushed for 137 yards and one TD while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also caught one score. Wilkes showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards.

Sonora now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Eldorado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sonora will challenge Alpine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eldorado, they will face off against Miles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
