Softball Recap: Union Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Union's offense. They lost 8-0 to the Payson Lions on Saturday. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to the Lions when the teams met back in March of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Payson, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-4.

Coming up, Union will be taking part in a tournament against Bear River at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.9, the Bears 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Payson, they will face off against Hurricane at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
