Softball Game Preview: Delta Panthers vs. Bryan Golden Bears

Delta hasn't had much luck against Bryan recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Panthers will take on the Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m. Delta has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Delta is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Hilltop, falling 13-3.

Meanwhile, Bryan earned a 7-3 win over Clay on Friday.

Thea Staten was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Staten was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Averyann Fisher was a standout: she scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Josey Arnold was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Bryan's record is now 4-1. As for Delta, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Delta suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Bryan when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
