Football Game Preview: James Island Trojans vs. Stratford Knights

James Island and Stratford are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as James Island comes in on five and Stratford on ten.

James Island is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Sumter by a score of 42-35. The win almost wasn't to be: the Trojans were down 28-14 in the second quarter.

Connor Dantzler was his usual excellent self, throwing for 265 yards and four TDs, while also rushing for 60 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Raphael Puiu was Dantzler's top target, picking up 121 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Stratford beat River Bluff 40-35 on Friday.

James Island's record is now 11-1. As for Stratford, their record now sits at 10-1.

James Island strolled past Stratford in their previous meeting back in August of 2023 by a score of 25-7. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
